Student handbook for the ETC class that stated August 25, 2025
Hi there. My name is Xiao Bao. Thank you for visiting my profile here on our wonderful CMU ETC website.
As Producer and Imagineer at Walt Disney Imagineering, I am grateful for the opportunity to be collaborating with our incredibly talented WDI teams. I focus on Creative Development and Production for Disney Parks & Resorts.
Through my career as a Multilingual Producer and Director in Themed Entertainment and Narrative Placemaking, I've had the opportunities to lead and direct the creation of theme park resorts, immersive entertainment, narrative placemaking and many types of location based projects for global destinations, with professional experiences in LA, New York, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Tokyo, Yokohama and Singapore.
Some of my favorite past projects include:
• Puy du Fou SAGA City of Light: Guinness World Record for The World’s Largest Immersive Show, IAAPA 2025 Brass Ring Award for Most Creative Theatrical Production
• LEGOLAND Shanghai Resort: the largest LEGOLAND Resort worldwide, featuring a highly immersive family hotel and a theme park with 8 themed areas
• Google Experience PartnerPlex Tokyo, located in the iconic Shibuya Stream
• Google Experience Center LA, located within the legendary Spruce Goose Hangar, filming location for blockbusters including Titanic, Avatar and Pirates of the Caribbean
• R&D projects for Walt Disney Imagineering Glendale
• Immersive exhibitions based on Jurassic World, Avatar and Marvel's The Avengers
I was raised in the beautiful, historical and innovative cosmopolitan city of Hangzhou. Hangzhou’s rich cultural heritage, intricate landscape design and unique urban placemaking continue to inspire me and my work.
I have the honor of serving on the Board of Directors for the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA). I am also a volunteer and member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA).
